LiPoly batter = no memory effect. Only real caveat is if you are going to not use your device for a month or longer leave it at about 40% charge. It will help prevent premature reductions in battery capacity.
I'm not sure if the Kindle has any "smartness" in the battery circuitry or not...if so there might be a need to calibrate the battery by doing a full drain then charge it back up. But this is just so the system knows the battery actual capacity not the theoretical capacity.
FYI draining a LiPoly/LiIon batery will not harm the battery. But as a rule they do work best given more frequent charges than the older NiMH which you HAD to drain due to memory effect.
