Erm, I must have copied the wrong list there.
I never even realized that YouTube had pirated music and video until a friend showed me a year ago. I figured that it was a bunch of crazy stuff with a few gems mixed in.
That being said, I do believe that websites should be classified and certain types of website should be held accountable for their content. For example: Google the search engine is an entirely different beast from YouTube, and both are entirely different beasts from Gmail. The search engine has no control over what it is indexing. Email is a means of private correspondence. But YouTube, that's a publishing/broadcasting medium. It's kinda like a newspaper reprinting a book without authorization or a television station broadcasting a movie without acquiring the rights to do so. The only real reason why they get away with it is because of a historical holdover, and they have no desire to fix the problem because accountability costs money.
