Any help greatly appreciated.
Ack! Sorry, the misspellings, and incorrect punctuation, and capitalization made it hard to read. I corrected the most glaring issues.

Ok, Adobe DRM will not work on a Kindle. Kindle DRM will not work on anything that is not a Kindle. Blame Amazon. They specifically restrict anyone from using the Mobi DRM scheme and support another form of DRM (which is what they use for the Kindle), and will not use anyone else's DRM as well. So, since you went with a Kindle, you MUST choose to download for Kindle. The file that you downloaded from the library, is just a key to let Adobe Digital Editions to authorize and download an ebook for people who use the ePub format.

The only way to get non-Kindle DRM'ed ebook to work on your Kindle is to strip the DRM, and then convert it to the Kindle format. However, depending on where you live, that may not be legal. We are also not allowed to discuss how to do that on the Mobileread forums as well.

If your library supports Overdrive, they should have Kindle ebooks as an option on some of the books. These are the only ones you can use.
