Something I'm doing this year for March Reading Month (which I'm actually starting now to give it some rev up time) is that I'm offering free ebooks (or print, since I have a few of those left) to any kid ages 8-18 who reads a book. So for every book that they read, they can request a free copy of any one of the eight books I have published as a thanks for reading a book anytime during the next two months.
But I don't want this to be just something I'm doing. So I'm tossing the idea out into the wild here to see how many would be interested in going in on this idea. You don't have to go through any central authority or site or anything like that. Just commit to joining in on this offering to encourage children to read, and then advertise your participation any way you want (ie, your blog, website, local paper, etc) so others know about this.
I think it'd be a great opportunity to kick off March Reading Month a little early and even give the kids out there a much bigger incentive to read this year than normal. What'cha guys say? I believe that the more kids we encourage to become readers, the better it will be for everyone.
