My first K3 started to slow down drastically as my device collection neared 1,000 books. Searches and other functions became almost impossible because it took so long (many minutes)! There were no books stuck in indexing, and rebooting didn't solve the problem.

When I had that K3 for a year, I had it replaced due to a screen defect. Because of the slow response times with the first K3, I decided to store all books in the cloud and keep only a few books on the new Kindle. This device works great. It's nice to be able to search, highlight, etc., again.
