Everyone gets the same version of calibre and the same level of support whether they donate or not. One of course should donate but the developer cannot actually put in an option to automatically solve this specific problem due to legal/moral implications/restrictions.
If you search the forum for abbyy or ABC lit converter I am sure you will find a solution as their are many post on this topic.
