don't get me wrong - there's nothing more magical than going to a real bookstore and running my eyes - and fingers - up and down the shelves, finding new reading or books that are old friends. but when i go to a bookstore, i have an entire real bookshelf at a time to browse - usually multiple shelves.

borders shelves didn't give me that, at least partly because it only shows one shelf at a time, and also because i can't pick up the books. the header, buttons, etc, took up much more of the page than the books did.

i have nothing against brick and mortar stores - i often walk to the local borders, and i also live near a barnes and noble plus 2 great used bookstores are within reasonable driving distance.

but online i want the titles easy to read, easy to get to more titles and i really like the reader reviews and the "other people interested in this title also bought", which has helped me find new authors many times at amazon.
