Diddy - I couldn't agree more.
Syncing is such a big issue with the Sony. On the Kindle it's nothing. You don't need to think about it at all. Buy a book and it's on the device. I know the newer Sonys are moving in this direction, but not for the older devices. I want to read not tinker.

When the Yugo went belly up here in the states in the late 80s, I remember the dealers offering them 2 for 1. You bought one and got another for free to keep for spare parts.

I will be keeping my 505 and hopefully someone in my family will be able to use it. I realize that this means I'm stuck with supporting it, but perhaps I can view it as a hobby or a labor of love. As long as they have low expectations and are not in a hurry.
