I understand and appreciate what you're saying.

What I object to is the degree of the promotion for this title.

I did, however, pick up another freebie book - a novel - from the same publisher which has the same identical promotion in it.

I'm a huge fan of Gary Brandner, by the way; but I really dislike the level of promotion from this publisher, which strikes me as very obscene in its degree. And I highly recommend Brandner's work.

Anyway, this may by own little pet peeve - seeing as how I how I have to deal with spam and spammers on an almost daily basis.

I'll probably buy 'Husk' shortly - but not because of the level of promotional spam I'm being exposed to, but simply because I think he's very good writer.
