I will be honest, I am completely and utterly shocked that you Jon would nominate part of a series that is the middle of a series, and then defend it when someone points that out.
This only because you have been such an incredibly steadfast proponent of never nominating one in a series if it's not the first, to such a degree that no explanation anyone ever gave you was good enough; you were adamant that no matter what, if it wasn't first in a series then it shouldn't ever be nominated and no explanation would ever change that for you.
So imagine my amazement and surprise at your nomination and defence of it. It seems that you must've had a change of heart to do that, and if so then I look forward to a new era where you support other novels in the middle of a series being nominated.
