Acrobat reader has nothing to do with the Mobi format, it's for PDF's.


Here are the basic steps for adding your own Mobi file to your Kindle...

1)Download the Mobi file (depending on the book you might find a better copy here on MobileRead).
2)Plug in Kindle with USB cable.
3)'Open' the Kindle to view it's folders
4)Drag or copy & paste the Mobi file into the Kindle's 'Documents' folder
5)Eject the Kindle
6)Book should now show up on the Kindle's 'Home' screen
