Yes, you can (more or less) tweak the newest version (custom build) that way you need no button.

It depends of course of your way of using the reader. I see no way to use ALL functions of PRS+ without button. But it's possible to read books, go back to the home menu, alter font size, open the options menu without using any button.
Even send the reader into standby mode. 99% of all you ever nead I think.

But you cannot not use the POWER BUTTON. It's a must for switching the reader on. The only weak point.
