I have had a nook (first edition) for over a year. My inventory of reading material on it includes about 4 dozen free books and around 20 purchased books that ranged in price from $2.99-$9.99. My Kindle has a similar ratio. I also carry a lot (a whole lot) of sideloaded material on my nook (pdfs of excel spreedsheets and such).
