It uses very little power except when in 'active' mode. That would be why it can update those offers on the screen at times. Usually it happens when an offer has expired so you're no longer seeing something that isn't available.

I hope this is the case, as aft full charge when I received the unit, it started 1st auto-refresh 1.5 day later, and my batt come down to like 95%. In between, I used the device only roughly 1h and wifi was off. I am very sure my device had been finishing index (i checked it). And now the batt is like 70% aft 5 days (normal use 45 min per day, just reading, no surfing or gaming or music or whatsoever)
