The Butlerian Jihad by Kevin J Anderson and Brian Herbert.

i've heard them get a lot of hate for "meddling" with the Dune series but i'm not seing it so far. what i'm seeing is interesting characters and scenarios.

perhaps its because i'm pretty fluid, i'm not die hard about anything. yes i respect Frank Herbert but by the end of Chapterhouse i was practically crying tears of sheer boredom.
