Hey,
Not sure if this the correct place for this, feel free to move as needed. I read the Books of Magic (the original portion done by Neil Gaiman) many years ago, in the series there is a scene where Death (from the Sandman series by Gaiman) talks about how when the universe dies, she will be there to (paraphrasing) put the chairs on the table and turn off the lights.
Today I finally finished reading Terry Pratchett's "Mort" (Discworld). Near the end Death says almost the exact same thing. Now I am sitting here wondering who came first. I know I need to research publishing dates to figure that out....but I am on the lazy side. Has anyone else ever noticed this?
ADDITION: looks like Mort was published in 1987 while Books of Magic vol.1 was 1990-1991. So now I am assuming (knowing how Gaiman loves stories within stories, and loves to play with cultural references) he quoted it on purpose.
