It was a mistake. In their first reply they first asked me permission to charge my credit card. But since they returned the money on my gift card balance I told them to take it off the balance. In the next email I had to give explicit permission to deduct it from my gift card balance. Great service from Amazon

, I've had companies taking money from my bank account because someone "accidentally" gave them the wrong bank account number when getting a new tv or telephone subscription.
I grew up in our store and I appreciate it when customers are honest to me. I just wouldn't be comfortable with taken money that isn't mine, even if Amazon can won't miss $100.
