What I have come to appreciate about my jetBook Lite is the user-replaceable battery. I suspect that for many eBook readers, the battery will be the first thing to go, and it will cost too much to replace it. My jetBook Lite runs on flashlight batteries, so replacement is not a problem. The page turns are instantaneous. I am very happy with the reflective TFT screen. So I wonder, what would be involved with an upgrade?

Yes, I must say, I rather like that about the jetbook. Sadly, I never saw one for sale here.

That's what I usually think as well. But mostly because of the "shiny" rather than the need. And often, I simply let it slip and pass it by.
