I need something like this pretty often.
Usually when you got a file that has the chapters not seperated, so you just have one big file.
I use to give them proper headings and replace all headings with chapterbreaks+headings and split the files by the chapterbreaks.
After that I have nearly everything I want, except that the chapter names do not fit anything.
In this case I usually rename my epub to zip, extract all chapters, use a Windows utility to rename them to something like Chapter01 to Chapter99, remove the former chapters from the ZIP, put the new ones in instead, rename it back to EPUB, then open it with Sigil and have to repair a lot of errors in the opf file.
Would be way easier if I could just do all this within Sigil...
