This is funny, because that's how I usually get my tech upgrades! Last year my 14 yr old DS decided he wanted a MacBook. As the bribe goes, I gave him mine because DH offered to buy me a MacBook Pro.
When iPad 2 came out, DH offered to buy me one, and DS got my iPad 1 as a "hand me down."
DS is a Nook Tablet afficionado, however, and has no interest in Kindles. I did just donate my K3 Keyboard to a friend in the hospital (she's an avid reader of old books - I mean
classics). Next spring, when I'll be looking for outdoor readability (and a return to the text-to-speech function, if the Kindle Fire doesn't have it by then) I'm planning to get a Kindle Touch.
