The iPad may be not be best device for reading narrative fiction. However, it is without doubt the most versatile device for reading digital content.
If you want to read ebooks from stores, there are apps for that ( I have 5 of them).
If you want to read library ebooks, there's an app for that.
If you want to read magazine content, there are apps for that.
If you want to read comics, there are apps for that.
If you want to read childen's books, there are apps for that.
And if you want to read esoteric stuff like poetry, there is even an app for that.
For reading technical manuals and textbooks in PDF , the iPad may even be technically the best choice.
