Kovid, just to let you know: I uninstalled Calibre and cleaned out all Calibre-related entries from the Registry (at least according to Revo Uninstaller), rebooted, and installed the newest release of Calibre. Alas, the problem remains. Maybe someday i will get my Reader recognized again . In the meantime, I'll use Calibre to convert and save to disk, then the Sony software to load the converted file to my Reader.

Again, I appreciate all your help and time.
