I don't have any kind of protective cover on my laptop when I use it, and it cost more than ten times as much as my e-reader. Maybe some people don't see the value in an "insurance policy" that costs a third to half of what they spent on the actual item.
Considering the state of my purse and my computer bag, my e-reader is never safer than when in my actual hands!
