Nook Margins Bug?

I've run into a problem with the Nook Simple Touch text-menu settings for margins. If I select the option on the left to have no margins and don't click Publisher Defaults there are still some books (Dresden Files, for example) that have these large page margins.

I've done a little bit of research and I've been able to determine that the offending file is the page-template.xpgt. A lot of people seem to point to the CSS file as causing margin issues, but that definitely doesn't appear to be the case here. The margin settings are something ridiculous like 3em which basically means the larger the text the more obnoxious the margin becomes and I generally have the 2nd largest text option set.

It could be that the Nook appropriately overrides CSS margins based on text-menu settings but ignores page-template.xpgt?

Is this considered a Nook Simple Touch bug? I'm also curious to know if it is a problem with the Nook color or tablet?
