The reality is that size is not always a reliable indicator anyway. I have the Song Of Ice and Fire four-book paperback bundle. The print in the third book, A Storm of Swords is much smaller than the print in the second book, A Clash of Kings, but they are about the same size books in terms of width. The audio version of the 2nd book is about 37 hours while the the 3rd book is 48 hours read by the same person. Personally I would like to see a word count. Byte size seems irrelevant with the possibility of images and various ways of formatting. I don't care from a cost perspective, but I do like to have an idea of how long it will take to finish a book.
