I agree. It's common sense and it was confirmed by someone at the e-ink producers. That's not to say Amazon uses lower grade screens.

I handled a K4 the other day and thought the background was a little darker than my 650. I couldn't say if it was less or more readable without putting the two next to each other, but it did look darker. Still very good in any case. I was impressed by it. Found the buttons little and difficult to use though, especially the nav button. Heavens know why they didn't make that button bigger.
