For the first time, I have started reading a text-only book (as opposed to training books with lots of illustrations) on my iPad. The book is Robert Alter's translation of the five books of Moses, and it has a structure with lots of notes at the end of each chapter which are not linked within the text, so I need to do a lot of back-and-forth between the chapter's text and the notes. I couldn't see doing this with slow e-ink.

I converted the book to mobi format and am reading it in the Kindle app, because that's where I do my other reading (training books, plus Le Monde), and because I like this app. I tried a few other, ePub compatible apps, but the result didn't seem worth the effort of changing apps for.
