that right there is the extent of my "expertise" I'm afraid. I really don't know what to tell you. As for my earlier claim that if a book's TOC doesn't show in Sigil, it won't show in CR? - Just tested it and it's false! lol!!!
Another way is to convert from epub to mobi and back to epub but use heuristic processing option to "detect and markup unformatted chapter headings..." in the final epub conversion. However, it sounds more like there's something wrong with your device/CR installation etc..

Again, I don't know what else to tell you. As a last resort, I would remove all associated files, uninstall and re-install CR. I've never had any issues with CR displaying fonts so this is foreign to me.

Then again, I use CR on a nook color not an e-ink device. That's why I suggested looking at the Sony forums for those using CR on their T1s.
