Gargoyles by Ben Hecht

I saw this book in Project Gutenberg's new releases, and as Ben Hecht was a very prolific and successful screen writer I though it might be interesting to read. I was quite surprised to see that there did not seem to be a single review or description of the book. About 20 Google search pages showed places that wanted to sell it to me (at rather high prices considering the fact it was out of copyright!) but it was apparent that not a single seller had actually read the book!
Before I stake my claim to being the only person to have ever read this book I thought I would check with my fellow MR members...... Has anyone read this book?
