Luckily, I live on the other side of the province (which, ironically, while closer to sea, is almost 2m higher, almost 1m above sea level instead of 1m below...) and we don't have much of a problem with water that should be going to the sea. Lots of ditches here still and those are not even half full. Though, they will be closing the
coupures in the town close by. But that's mostly because of the northwestern storm in combination with the high tide.
There was less rain than was predicted so the pressure wasn't as great as they feared it would be and the water stayed just (and I mean just!) below the top of the dike...

I did hear one dike did break, not the one they were afraid of this morning, but one in the neighbouring province...
Remember, these aren't sea dikes (those are still standing firm as the presure is coming from the inside out), but inland dikes to protect the
polders...
