I see no connection between cost of cover to cost of device. If I want a great looking cover, I have to pay for it.

Kate Spade is a designer, so of course all of her covers cost a lot.

I bought one of the NY Times covers for my new Nook ST -- the one called newsstand. It's $30 and very cheap looking but very lightweight, so it doesn't add much weight to the reader.
