Welcome to MobileRead, Andy.N. Have you tried Instapaper? It compiles webarticles that you like into an EPUB to be downloaded to your ereader. Also the Fetch News feature within calibre has a large selection of RSS feeds. I even wrote my own custom "recipes" for websites that I wanted compiled into news that weren't in the calibre default list.
