I can only compare the ones we have (kindles and sonys) but yesterday I was showing them to friends who want to buy an ereader and we did look at them inside the house and outside where it is really very sunny these days.
My k4 display is very similar to our k3. Both have a better contrast than my T1, which has pretty much the same greyer background as the 650. The kindles background are whiter, and the fonts seem much darker and better defined.
