If this sale does well (and from the thread comments from people who likewise splurged, it is doing well), then the publisher will offer more such in the future after you have reduced your TBR to accommodate the potential influx.

Maybe not the same books, but perhaps the promotional shuffle will result in ones you personally find more interesting. So, win-win!

I'm starting to think that freebie offerings from authors you would have bought anyway might perhaps qualify as a deduction.

After all, you are saved from spending money you would have spent of your own volition and thus, things balance out.
