I too like adapt technical gadgets onto my kind of usage. That is why I love my 350 with the newest custom built of PRS+. With my own icons, altered button assignment, single tab functions, ...
The are reasons to allow doubts that the PRS+-developer-team will produce inbetween appropriate time some comparable modification for the T1.

Having both the 350 and the T1, I can assure you, they are pretty different beasts (although Sony did a great job in making the UIs looking very similar) and can not really be compared.
I really like the 350 and PRS+ makes it a fantastic reader.
With Android as an OS for the T1, on the other hand, we have already now a complete and highly developed ecosystem available with thousands of developers busy.
Allow me to answer your questions:
Does the the T1 have assignable gesture-functions for the touch screen?
No (not yet), at least with the regular reading app. You can customize CoolReader and FBReader to a high degree, though.
Does it allow changing CSS-style with 2 'clicks'?
Using one of the alternative reading apps, you can do so already now. Many people do so.
Does it allow reading while chaging? (maybe it does, but I guess no)
Yes, definitely. Even while it is connected to a PC. (You can choose the mode).

I agree. kartu himself expressed, that he is not very eager on writing the whole thing (PRS+) again from scratch in a different framework, which I can perfectly understand.
But already now we can do lots of things and when rooted, it can do things, the x50 models eaven couldn't dream of.
Don't get me wrong, I highly respect and appreciate the work of the PRS+ team. It's just, with Android, there is many, many more people who are fluent with the OS and applying a little hack here or there is no big deal for them. The collection of tweaks and tricks in the wiki has grown amazingly in a very short time.
As I said in the beginning, PRS+ is great and having the potential of Android is great, too. The more I deal with the T1, the more I realize, it's sort of useless to try to compare and try to decide, which is "better". There is no better between apples and pears. Both are good.
