First off.
I stand corrected by many on Sweden and Switzerland.
I wish it was the first time I have been corrected, but alas it is not, and it won't be the last either.

How does one lose his bearings?
Where does the "horizon" go?

Here is the glamorous slant:
From Bono:

"I know a girl who's like the sea.' The sea and the sky become the same colour and you lose the horizon line as it disappears into infinity."

As for me, on this subject:

First a few notes:

I like watches, have had quite a few, have traded them as well, though now I have sold off, passed down, and reduced my stock drastically for financial and downsizing purposes, as I end the major part of my working life. I now use modern Casio and Timex and have a couple of my father's old Bulovas and a Seiko. As for as collectables I have only a few old primitive antiques that I picked up along the way, along with a some compasses, many with no recognizable name, but they are fun to look at and show to the grand kids. I think that is why I have kept them as I downsize. Little kids love old pocket watches that chime. Such bright little eyes that can study a watch movement from an inch or two away.

From Wikipedia---------Scandinavia and Nordic -----------------
The three monarchies (Denmark, Norway and Sweden) that compose Scandinavia according to the strictest, and most common, definition
The possible extended usage: Iceland and the Faroe Islands on account of their populations being largely descended from Scandinavians, Finland on account of its historical association with Sweden and its Scandinavian minority.

The Nordic countries make up a region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic which consists of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and their associated territories, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. In English, Scandinavia is sometimes used as a synonym for the Nordic countries (but excluding Greenland), despite the fact that that word is most strictly defined to refer only to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.[1]-------------------------------------------------------

So Scandinavia and Nordic more or less rhythm in commonality but how did I mix up Switzerland and Sweden besides losing my horizon? I think it is because the Swiss Swatch Watch Company has its watch movements in watches everywhere including Swedish watches and I had recently read an article about the Swatch watch movement supply controversy and how it would affect many, many watch companies that did not make their own movements.

Anyway, a new year is here and my head is feeling better already. And now if my team can continue its winning ways, or rather if both my teams can continue their winning ways since my favorite has already beaten my second favorite, I will really feel good.
I hope everyone will have a Happy New Year.
