Or you can have calibre do that for you in the epub output options, "Split files larger than:". Default is 260KB, but you can change that to whatever you need. Also, if your ebook has correct chapter definitions/page breaks defined calibre should split it for you automatically (there's an option to turn that off). If a section is still too large after splitting on page breaks, calibre will split it again.
