I agree, but probably from Wired's perspective there just isn't much to differentiate the touch screen readers. They're all using the same screen tech, which doesn't make for an easy article to write. So I guess from that perspective, it makes sense to highlight the social features.

That said though, I don't know anyone who cares about the Facebook integration in the Kobo.
