Taking the time to repair these, (say, on average, 1 hour of technician time.), including time to test, repackage, auction and ship to customers, you would have to charge $80/piece to actually be profitabe. For which the customer then gets a 3rd party refurb with no protection from Sony for malfunctioning purchase.
The sad truth of these modern innexpensive electronics. Simple economics condemns them to be landfil in no time.
