Did you buy the GC on the Amazon.com site or the Amazon.co.uk site?

Because GCs are non-transferrable across the various country storefronts (probably due to currency exchange issues) and if I cashed in my Swagbucks on an Amazon.ca GC, I wouldn't be able to apply it to the Amazon.com version of my Canadian-based official identity to pay for my few Kindle books, though I could use it perfectly well to subsidize my not-available-on-the-US-shopping-site Francophone paper purchases up here in Canada.

If it really is stuck on the .com version of your UK account, then just keep buying there with your region set appropriately until you exhaust the funds, then switch your Kindle account over to the .co.uk version of the store to access the UK-only selections (apparently, this may now be a one-way trip, according to people who've commented in the Amazon forums).

ETA: Another thing you've worked out for yourself in the time it took me to type this up!
