You know, I clearly stated in my first post that I read without a cover on my reader. Always have and always will. It works for me and I don't need or want a lecture on the dangers of a naked reader. I have seen others that also read without a cover looking for a safe way to transport their reader and thought they might find something useful in my post. Everyone has their own way of doing things and that should be respected. I don't waste my time posting my opinions about using a reader with a bulky cover on it every time a discussion of covers comes up. That would be rude in my opinion. Besides, I have better things to do with my time.

As to the straps, since I am only transporting the reader the straps are a nice security feature. If the zippers are opened on all 3 sides I'm confident the reader will not fall out.
