This one's for Kovid or the other developers:

When the Kindle Fire is connected to calibre, user-defined keyboard shortcuts don't work. Default shortcuts (such as "E" for "Edit Metadata") do work, but those shortcuts that have been associated with plugins don't do anything until the Kindle Fire has been disconnected -- at which point all shortcut functionality is restored. This is on a Windows XP SP3 computer, running calibre 8.32.

It should go without saying, a quick response is neither required nor expected. Enjoy your holidays, guys.
