This is truly silly. If kobo was routinely doing something that kept ePUBs from being used on anything but Kobo devices we would have hundreds upon hundreds of complaints on MR about this. Maybe thousands. Why in the world would they do this--a big slice of their book sales go to owners of Sony, B&N, and other devices.
