At least with my 300 I could press the page turn key when I was half way down the page and wouldn't notice the delay as much--the "please wait" box disrupts that.
I always read my books on PDFs adapted to 6" screens. I don't need to reflow, so I cannot help about issues there. My conversion/edition process is longer to explain than to apply (buy AZW, de DRM to MOBI, convert to HTMLZ with Calibre, rename to rar, decompress, open in Chrome, copy and paste to Word, edit), but edition ends in Word (2007) and then I save as PDF. These PDFs work perfect on my 505, and all other readers, AFAIK, but run really slow on the T1. I get the "please wait" message all the time. The way to solve this is to obtain the final PDF through the virtual printer, instead of saving as PDF. The same result is achieved when you reprint a PDF using Acrobat. The downside is that you lose the links in the TOC, but as for speed and ease of use, it comes back to perfect.

SO, maybe, you should try and reprint one. See if it improves.

In case it helps.
