So, all signs are that e-book readers are not at steady-state in terms of pricing and features. So, yes you are likely to see further price drops whenever you buy it.
I'm contrasting this with something like laptops. For years, there has been no real change. Each new generation brought processor tweaks, and hard disk tweaks but the basic concept and the price levels have been steady for years.
Bottom line is go ahead and buy it now. Whenever, you buy it, it will be outdated/underpriced soon. Don't deprive yourself of the enjoyment if you find value in the current price point.

P.S. OTOH, this won't be true anymore for laptops over the next couple years. You will see full featured laptops not much thicker than today's tablets with touchscreens, keyboards, swiveling screens to convert them into tablets, SSD, and long battery life (ultrabooks). Yes there will be some running IOS and android, but I'm talking about full function notebooks running either the Mac OSX or Win8. Within five years there is a small chance we will see alternatives to the mouse/keyboard (mind control, kinnect-style, etc).
