So Swedes are fortunate. I looked it up on the EU site and it said that the current rule for intangible items like downloads is based on the location of the supplying business. In my case in the UK Kindle eBooks are sold by Amazon Media EU SArl in Luxembourg so 15% (UK rate is 20%). The EU intend to change to the location of the customer in ? 2015 ?
If the sale is by the Swedish branch of Amazon that would account for the Swedish VAT rate. But the rate should be that for downloads, not books.
