greetings from California

Hi! I joined the forum today, but I've been lurking for a while.

I have been reading ebooks for several years-- using Fictionwise ereader and Kindle ereader on my Blackberry devices [work provided].

Last year, I bought the Archos 7 Home tablet [a 7" touch screen tablet running an early version of Android]. On the Archos, I use FBreader as my e-book application. I would prefer Aldiko, but my google account thinks that I don't have an Android phone, so I have to figure a workaround to install Aldiko again!!

I use Calibre software to manage and convert my books. I use Librarything to manage my wishlist,

I like genre fiction-- Jim Thompson, Elmore Leonard, John D MacDonald, Donald E Westlake, Lee Child, old Harlequin romances, epic fantasy, sword & sorcery, trickery & knavery, thrillers, espionage, some horror. In the Google Books world, I like old books of household management and etiquette, folklore and local customs & superstitions, and 19th & early 20th century travel narratives.

I'm kind of a tinkerer-- I always run into problems with new software or hardware, and I search the internet to find solutions [or at least solace that other people have the same problems!!]

Glad to join the community!!
