I tend to upagrade to the lastest version of everything I use, but I've known people who can only be dragged kicking and screaming to upgrade, because they don't want new problems to crop up. "Don't touch it! It works the way I want it to!"

EBSCO... that sounds like something I used through the library. Academic journals and such.
