I did find a way to do a factory reset, by taking the back cover off and pressing THAT button and the volume up button simultaneously. However, because the cussed thing still is reading my battery power at zero, it won't do the factory reset.
So basically this update has totally ruined my Vox...
As I said, I am trying to decide between forcing a total and true battery drain and then try to recharge it or if I attempt to erase all my data on here now while there is still power to the thing and write it off as a lost cause.
So, to the Kobo developers: My power on/off button does not work at all because of your firmware update. Oh, and the buttons at the bottom no longer light up either. They work, but they don't light up.
These items functioned correctly before your firmware update.
This had looked like a nice product with great potential and I was enjoying it--yesterday. I was even willing to be patient with the issues it was having because it did mostly work for what I wanted it to do. I had it to a place where I could live with it, anyway. Now the product developers have taken something that was working and rendered it nonfunctional and probably unfixable as well.
I'm going to be making some decisions here. This was a birthday present, but I want it working or I want a refund and I will decide if I care to continue with this company or not.
Tonight I'm going to make sure the contents of my Kobo library are safely on the hard drive of my laptop so I can make sure all the titles are on my reliable Sony PRS 650. I had better make sure my Kindle titles are sync'ed onto the laptop as well.
