I think it is intentional--but I cannot know for sure. I touched the menu button and then "refresh". As it happens, my Vox did not sync a few of my recent purchases when I did this. Odd.
EDIT: about a half hour later, sync began as soon as i switched to library and all of my books downloaded. I'm voting inexplicable oddity
